Projects

The Library elaborates annually specific projects:

  • 2024 realization of a new study room ("learning space") for groupworking and brainstorming.
  • 2023-2024 Project Open Access resources for Medicine, Clinic and Nursing: creation of a web portal that exposes the best open access resources for clinics and didactic in biomedical areas of interest for Le Polyclinique NEXT Hospital located in Antsiranana (Diego Suarez) in North Madagascar (partnership with the Next not-for-profit organization). The portal indicates scientific OA journals and ebooks (740 item).
  • 2023 "Donate blood, make the difference" project
The initiative is promoted together with the Trasfusional Centre at the Ospedale Policlinico San Martino on Genova. The purpose is to sensitize our library's students - that tomorrow will be physicians - to donate blood as a sympathetic, altruistic, civic, and social action.
  • 2022 New indexing of all textbooks ranged in the open shelves based on the National Library of Medicine classification scheme
The advantage of this new indexing method is the alignment of the textbook classification with the international standards of the biomedical area and as a consequence better book's findability.
  • 2021 Digital botany in the ligurian landscape. An Agenda 2030 project.
Thanks to "Ufficio Archivi storici e Musei" of our Library System some unique books of the "Biologia della Terra e del Mare (BTM)" collection are been digitalized and indexed on Doge, the Campus repository. The books are been selected by the Library and illustrate the flora of the Ligurian ecosystem in the xix century.
