For materials (such as older monographs and scientific journals) placed in a warehouse or rooms only accessible to staff, it is necessary to apply for consultation at the desk of the Library.
The exam and in-depth texts for the Medicine, Pharmacy, and BTM courses are placed on the open shelf.
The loan is intended for Institutional users. External users can also use the service, upon presentation of a valid identity document; the librarians will right now register you in the library database.
The Library invites the students to use the auto-loan totem placed at the entrance of the Library.
We remind you that the loan is strictly personal and therefore it is not allowed to transfer it to third parties. In exceptional cases, it is possible to obtain it by providing a proxy with a photocopy of the identity document of the delegator. Loan service stops 5’ before closure.
By consulting the UNO Per Tutto catalog, users can check if the material sought is available, if it is admitted for the loan, if it is on loan, and if there are reservations. The authentication with Login and Password (UniGEpass for institutional users and social login for external user members of the library) allows also you to check the status of your loans and reserve books, through the “My library card” personal area.
For obtaining documents not available in the libraries of the city area, Document Delivery (DD) and Interlibrary Loan services (ILL) are active.
The service in detail
TYOE OF USERS | MAX NUMBER OF BOOKS (of all libraries together) | LOAN DURATION | RENEWAL OF LOAN NUMBER |
Students | 10 | 21 days | 2 |
Teachers & Staff | 30 | 60 days | 2 |
External users | 10 | 21 days | 2 |
ERASMUS students have the same rights as University students up to one month before their contract expires.
Loan: maximum number of books is intended in all the libraries of the University of Genoa.
Renewal: the two consecutive renewals allowed are carried out automatically by the system if the books are not reserved by other users. The return reminder indicates that the volumes have been requested by others, or that the maximum number (two) of loan extensions has been reached.
In both cases, the user is asked to repay as soon as possible in order not to incur automatic blocks that would prevent further loans.
Reservation: it is possible to book a document on loan autonomously from the UNO Per Tutto catalog by authenticating with your credentials or by contacting the desk of the Polo Biomedico Library.
The user will be notified as soon as the booked document is available and will be able to collect it from the Information and Loan Service within five days from the date of the notice, after which the reservation will lapse.
Restitution: users are required to take care of the material and return it by the expiration date. The return, which must always be carried out at the Front-Office service of the medicine headquarters, can also be made by third parties.
In case of delay in delivery, damage, or loss, penalties will be applied in proportion to the seriousness of the lack. We can also ask you to buy the lost book.
