Reference service / Bibliographic research support

The Library offers support and advice on bibliographic research:

  • localizing and retrying information sources (such as books, journal articles, and online information).
  • Choosing research instruments and effective research strategies; documents evaluation and selection techniques. 
  • Directions on the institutional Discovery tool Unopertutto and electronic resources such as Databases, e-journals, and ebooks. 
  • Directions on expert use of important Biomedical Databases, especially Pubmed. 
  • Utilizing and familiarizing with Reference Management software such as Zotero and EndNote web (see also this video-tutorial [ITA] )
  • Utilizing citational Databases such as WOS, Scopus, Dimensions
  • Delivering Thematic portals 

The service is intended for institutional patrons and is mostly delivered online through the MS Teams platform, but also face-to-face. It is always requested to set the day and time in agreement with the librarians: it is possible to request an appointment by sending an email to
