Access to electronic resources: Federated authentication

It's very common to need to access a University data base or a UniGe subscription ejournal outside the University network: from home, from abroad, from the laboratory or from the hospital where you work or do your internship or specialization. 

In all these cases, the PC from which you are connecting is outside the University network and therefore, in order for access to the resources to be successful, it is necessary that the Proxy is activated on the PC from which you are working (info here). A very convenient alternative to the proxy is the use of federated authentication, which consists in identifying, after the login button present in the resource (usually at the top right), your institution (Università di Genova / Genoa University ecc.) and then log in with your unige-pass credentials.
