At the Library, we periodically set up a “thematic display” featuring books and documents from our collection related to a specific theme or anniversary. For the month of June 2026, we have chosen “Cosmetology & Cosmetics.”
Cosmetology and Cosmetics are both fields dedicated to personal care and well-being, but while the former is the science that—drawing on chemistry, biology, and dermatology—scientifically studies cosmetic products, the latter serves aesthetic, hygienic, and preventive purposes.
The products studied in cosmetology are increasingly natural, sustainable, and mindful of the selection of raw materials to ensure safe and effective results, as evidenced by the material on display.
